Position Summary:

Pearce Durick is seeking a professional paralegal candidate with excellent verbal and written communication skills. The ideal candidate would have the ability to manage a complex case load and take an active role in case preparation. Our firm desires a team player that will work concurrently with our skilled attorneys.

Job Description and Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare correspondence and other legal documents for attorneys and clients
  • Communicate with clients and court staff
  • Conduct conflict checks
  • File documents with courts
  • Support attorneys in trials
  • Organize and index case files
  • Proof billing reports, review and edit client bills
  • Utilize a variety of computer programs to increase firm efficiency
  • Maintain client confidentiality
  • Establish and maintain attorney calendar
  • Other tasks as assigned

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Legal experience preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete the tasks timely
  • Interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively communicate and cooperatively work with clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Confidentiality
  • Attention to detail
  • Criminal background check

Hours

Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

*Occasionally requires greater than 40 hours (overtime) based on caseload
