Attorneys Bruner, Vukelic and Tuntland obtain victory for ND public school district at state supreme court

December 23, 2021

Attorneys Rachel Bruner, Meredith Vukelic, and Kirsten Tuntland successfully advised and defended a North Dakota public school district on a 2019 legislative amendment relating to probationary teachers.  While the teacher and North Dakota United argued the statute should only apply to teachers employed less than two years in the state, the district court agreed with our attorneys and ruled the school district correctly applied the probationary teacher statute when nonrenewing a teacher employed less than two years at the school district.  The teacher appealed, and following briefs and oral argument, the North Dakota Supreme Court affirmed, also finding in favor of the school district.
