Founded in 1919, Pearce & Durick is one of North Dakota’s most respected law firms and represents clients in courtrooms across the nation. Pearce & Durick has been providing clients with quality legal service for more than 90 years. The firm's early history began in 1919 when Edward Cox and Herbert O'Hare, two prominent Bismarck attorneys, formed a law partnership.

Cox and O’Hare accepted William R. Pearce into the firm in 1944. William Pearce went on to become one of North Dakota’s pre-eminent litigators and oil and gas attorneys. In 1970, William Pearce’s son, Harry Pearce, joined the firm and became one of the nation’s top product liability defense attorneys.

The name of the firm was changed to Pearce & Durick in 1985. That same year, General Motors recruited Harry Pearce to serve as an Associate General Counsel. Harry moved up the corporate ladder, becoming General Counsel and ultimately Vice Chairman of General Motors. He later served as Chairman of Hughes Electronics Corporation, and now serves as a member of the board of several large corporations.

Today, Pearce & Durick continues its rich tradition of providing quality legal services with some of the most respected lawyers in the region in their areas of practice.
